summer vacation 2011

after the fourth of july we headed to lake delavan, wisconsin where my family was vacationing.  it was marvelous. we did a bunch of relaxing, boating, tubing, drinking, eating, skiing, ski bobbing, reading, playing games, jet skiing, sunseting, lounging…you get my drift. lots of -ing. my kind of vacay. beware: lots and lots of pics (and these are edited down. yikes).

today

why i don’t love today:

1. headache from lack of sleep. that was quite the angry storm last night. i jumped from the thunder. it sounded like death for either houses or people (fortunately i don’t think it was).

2. doctor’s appointment. i dislike going to the doctor (who doesn’t?).

3. work. obvi.

4. the awful humidity. gross.

 

why i love today:

1. i had my favorite breakfast! dunkin donuts everything bagel with chive cream cheese and a medium caramel coffee with skim milk and sugar.

2. it’s friday for me!

3. i’m going to trader joe’s tonight! (it’s been way too long)

4. project runway premiere’s tonight!

weekend recap

so it’s monday. again. i wasn’t going to do a weekend recap because there isn’t much to report on and there’s a lack of photos. but, i did want to give a movie recommendation and didn’t think it warranted its own post. so here’s the short and sweet (and boring?) recap.

friday night we saw horrible bosses. omg. hilarious. all star cast. great plot. go. see. this. now. i don’t think we’ve laughed that much since the hangover.

saturday was running errands. beck tagged along for some of them so he could get his nails clipped. i think he felt ripped off when we didn’t have time to bring him to the dog park (he hates the car and nail clippings), but he enjoyed sticking his head out the window. it’s such a dog cliché and i love it.

my parents stopped by so my dad could see our new place and we had a nice bbq. later we  went to a going away party and played some beer pong, and then made our way to a bar. apparently i drank waaay too much since i didn’t get off the couch on sunday until 7pm. i hate when that happens. i had big plans – dog park, painting frames, painting artwork, trader joes and sewing. and none of those got done. i feel the worst about no dog park though.

finally: weekend recap {fourth of july}

yeahhh…the fourth was like, 3 weeks ago. shame on me. i blame my lateness on waiting for a working laptop. and…life. anyway. here we go! lots and lots of pics!

my sister-in-law and her husband came in town to party, and party we did. there was dinner and drinks at a neighborhood bar friday night, fireworks, horse racing and betting at arlington park saturday and a big bbq at our place on sunday. plus pool time and a craigslist pickup thrown in there (thanks again for the muscles and the car, sarah!). we had so much fun and wish we could live closer together.

we said goodbye monday morning (well, i said it in my head and later in a text, since i was hungover in bed still) and then ryan and i hit the beach with some friends. that night we had plans to bbq but couldn’t seem to get off the couch. leftovers to the rescue!

i told you it was a lot of pictures! and that’s not even all of them…the more embarrassing-had-to-be-there ones didn’t make the cut.
