a little belated, but first, happy mother’s day to my grandmas, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, friends who are mommas, and all other moms i know, especially my mom, who sets such a great example for me as i am about to become a mom myself.
this weekend of course flew by, but even more than usual so since we had a visitor and were busy. ryan’s mother-in-law was in town for the weekend, and we enjoyed bob chinn’s for dinner friday night, brunch saturday followed by an architecture boat tour of chicago (it’s so great to be a tourist in your own city sometimes) and then hosted a bbq with my family (of course saturday the weather rainy and cold, when we had activities planned, sandwiched between two gorgeous days). sunday i was actually able to sleep in, which was such a great start to the day of relaxing, nursery things, and the dog park.

i also received my “first” mother’s day card and flowers from my boys, which i loved. while i do think i am technically a mother since i’ve been carrying henry for almost 9 months now (and let’s not forget beck), i can’t wait until next mother’s day, when i will truly know what it feels like to be a mom.
hope you had a great weekend, and have a great week!
