picture time

while i was pregnant a groupon popped up for a photographer and i snatched it up, thinking ahead to how i wanted pics of ryan and i with the new baby. flash forward (or backward, now) to when henry was about 2 weeks old and we became models.

sure, i wish i had lost at least as much weight as i have now, and henry didn’t have his baby acne (and while i like the photos i don’t love love them; i’m glad we didn’t pay full price for these), but i am grateful to have documented our new family and how tiny henry was – because several weeks later he has totally changed already.

tuesday cuteness

since henry was born, i haven’t picked up my ‘big’ (dslr) camera much, which surprises me. but it’s big, and takes time to get the settings with the light right (and with infants you need to act quick), so i don’t carry it around with me. i’ve been very reliant on my iphone, since it’s always with me, and with my point-and-shoot. but the couple of times i have, i made it count and did my own mini photo shoots. these pictures make me happy. especially the hat ones. oh that hat! one of my favorite things ever.

(pictures taken a few weeks ago…he’s already changed – getting so big! but is still as cute, or cuter, now. of course.)

(henry at 3 days and 15 days. little guy is porking up; at 2 1/2 weeks he is now 8lb 12oz, up from 7lb 13 oz.)

maternity photo shoot

a couple weeks ago (during week 34) we had a maternity photo shoot with a friend who’s starting her own photography business, jenna marie photography. i’ve been taking my own photos for my weekly maternity book, but it was so nice to have someone else take pictures instead of running back and forth from my tripod — and it gave a reason for ryan to cooperate and be in photos too. just wanted to share some of my faves…(some may be an understatement)
