I had these done, so I might as well post them! The final two weeks of my pregnancy, which was very unexpected.
And then he came, less than 48 hours after I took week 38’s picture and wrote the blurb. Who knew he would listen so well? Let’s hope that continues…(though based on his fussiness lately…notsomuch. #sendalcohol #andearplugs #andsweetbabymagic)
Here’s a look at the growing bump from start to finish…
You guys, I keep getting larger (I am already 2 weeks larger than the above photo, at the time of writing). Just when I think it’s not possible, it just keeps happening. And I know it will continue to happen. It happened last time, it will happen this time. I know I’m not extra large, I’m measuring right on track, but, ugh. You can’t help but feel this way in the moment. I officially reached the weight limit I had wanted to gain, and with several more weeks left with the baby gaining weight, well, I will too. Ah vell. I’m not about to not have my sweets and cereal (as I eat a bowl and a half of Kix while writing this), what with not being able to indulge in all the holiday drinking.
I can’t believe it’s Christmas next week! It’s so exciting. And after Christmas comes baby watch 2014/2015. I really do feel like this one might come early for some reason, though if he’s anything like Henry, it’s only wishful thinking. I’m not wishing to hard yet though, I do want to make it to Christmas at least – for his sake, and mine. Time to finish the nursery and do loads of tiny laundry…
Time is flying by. Thanksgiving is over (How was yours? Hope it was as good as mine! Good food, family and relaxing, nothing is much better.) and we are full swing into Christmas season. We actually got the tree and decorated the house inside and out the weekend before Thanksgiving (we were those people), which is a first for us. I blame Henry and all his Christmas movie watching. I’ve started my Christmas shopping, and most of it is done online, so I’m pretty sure the UPS and FedEx guys know where to go automatically when they see our last name. But I still have a bunch to do, though I don’t feel the time crunch, yet. I do feel a time crunch with the nursery, since it’s a bit of a disaster right now, and I’m still trying to get house projects and nursery projects done before the babe gets here in approximately 6 weeks. Yikes! Yes, I’m 34 weeks tomorrow, so this is a little late to post. Story of my life.
I have so much to update on, including our laundry room renovation that is going along great, and Henry transitioning to a big boy bed last week. Hopefully one day before the baby is here! Enjoy the most wonderful time of the year!
So I’m 30 weeks tomorrow – last one before there’s only a single digit week countdown! Eeeeeeeeeek.
Also also – I need a haircut. It’s like Kardashian length up in here with none of the (professional) styling. One is scheduled for Saturday, finally.
Even though there’s still 10 weeks left, I feel like it’s the fastest 10 weeks of the year – Thanksgiving is going to be here in a matter of weeks, and then it’s the quickest four weeks ever until Christmas, then it’s the New Year, and then it’s baby time. Oh baby.
Yes! All caught up – through all the weekly photos I’ve taken.
Henry really is the sweetest and I can’t wait to see him as a big brother. Hopefully that continues once the baby is here. Though if the way he is with Beck is any indication, he’ll be super duper sweet with kisses and hugs and make your heart melt, and in the next minute you have to tell him not to sit on the dog…
Here’s the two photo collages showing the belly progress thus far:
Unrelated: I finally took photos of the hutch I made over! Now to edit the photos and write a post…
Hello, again. Here’s another maternity book catch-up post.
Seriously, with the tiredness – oy. So much worse than last time, I swear. I think it’s a combo of having Henry to take care of and some bad sleeping. I seriously only get like one or two good nights of sleep a week. Peeing in the middle of the night happened pretty much immediately, and some nights I can’t fall asleep, or I can’t fall back asleep after the bathroom break, or I just keep waking up…or all three if it’s a particularly bad night. Some people like to say “it’s just practice for having a newborn and being up all night” – well, please don’t let that be you saying it to me, because on this lack of sleep? I might punch you in the face. At least in my head. Here’s the thing – I don’t have a newborn yet, so I’d like to sleep. I don’t need to “practice” thankyouverymuch.
My cravings – or more like the only foods that really sound delicious to me, couldn’t be more unhealthy. How do I go about craving things like plain celery, calorie-free pickles and lettuce? Luckily I’m used to working out, well, apart from the beginning of the pregnancy when I was so tired I just couldn’t, so I’m trying to make it to the gym two times a week to counteract the carb breakfast, carb snack, carb lunch, carb snack, carb dinner and carb dessert. I think at 16 weeks I had only gained six pounds…but here at almost 24 weeks it’s definitely starting to catch up to me.
I’m also doing a collage of sorts, to see the progression of the belly. (It also shows the difference in my editing of the white balance from week to week, but let’s focus on the belly instead of my photography skills thanks). Week 16 will be on the next one…
Almost caught up!
(See the first Week 15 and Week 16)
hello, due date. even though i knew the chances of henry coming early were slim (first children are usually not early), i’m still disappointed he’s not here yet, and with the lack of progress seen at doctor appointments. speaking of, i had one this morning…and for the second week, no progress. it doesn’t mean everything, he can still come at any time, but it’s still frustrating. and, due to my doctor’s schedule and my lack of progress, there will be no making henry come until the 26th. as in, 11 days from now. as in, i will give birth to a toddler.
